DEL CITY, Okla. -- The family of a missing Del City woman continued to search for their relative, Nakketa Smith.
Relatives said they talked to the 31-year-old late Friday night and by Saturday, she had vanished.
By Monday, the third day of the search, investigators found no sign of Smith, but had taken her ex-husband Dontee Johnson into custody. Johnson who was released from prison in June, was uncooperative with investigators, police said.
Smith's family looked for the missing mother of three at the Logan Point Apartments, a place where police believe Johnson was staying.
"We're definitely putting this together one piece at a time," Capt. Jody Suit said.
Suit said police discovered Smith's vehicle with two of her children inside on Saturday. The investigators processed the car for evidence.
"We won't go into any of the details of the evidence," Suit said.
Johnson was under investigation prior to Smith's disappearance after Smith reported him about three weeks ago.
"That other investigation has produced enough details to charge him with two counts of lewd acts on a minor," Suit said.
Johnson and Smith were married in 2003, but Smith filed for divorce and a victim's protection order one year later.
Johnson retaliated by also filing a VPO, but a judge denied them both, citing the pending divorce.
"We'd really like to bring her home alive, but we are concerned for her welfare at this point," Suit said. "My guts is not a good feeling, but still have hopes."
On Monday, police released Smith's house back to her family. Her bedroom remained sealed off, where evidence of a violent attack was still being processed.
