Delicious Diabetic Dinners

EDMOND, Oklahoma -- The holiday season has arrived, along with all the delicious, fattening goodness of all the traditional meals. What if you're on a special diet or maybe even diabetic? A metro business hasn't forgotten about you.

 Pass Your Plate in Edmond has teamed up with Draelos Metabolic Center to offer quality healthy meals for those on special diets such as diabetics.

Jim Quillen is the owner of Pass Your Plate. He said that the majority of restaurants forget about special diets even though they're easy to prepare.

"Most of them are entrées that we've offered before but with maybe some slight changes," Quillen said. "A normal pasta might change to a wheat pasta or a white rice might change to black beans."

Special diets isn't the only focus. Making dinners quicker and easier is the main purpose of Pass Your Plate.

"Everybody's busy. Everybody wants to eat well," Quillen said. "We don't always have time to shop for the right ingredients or we don't want to buy a lot of ingredients and only use a little of those ingredients and throw the rest away and do all the preparation and the cooking and the cleaning."
