OKLAHOAM CITY -- A burglar ruined Christmas for a two-year-old and her family, but thanks to the generosity of viewers, the girl will get the Christmas every child deserves.
After thieves broke in last Tuesday the Maldonado family thought their Christmas was unsalvageable, but shortly after NEWS 9's story on two-year-old Brynn and her family aired, the presents and gifts began to flow into the station.
Along with presents for Brynn, her grandmother, Sharon Maldonado, and mother, Alondra Maldonado, also received gifts. Alondra was given a computer as she continues to work toward earning her nursing degree, while Sharon and the family were given thousands of dollars to help during the holiday season.
"I was so afraid that I wasn't going to be able to provide and now so many people have done so much," Alondra said. "It's going to be OK."
The family plans to use the donated money to install a security system.
