OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fifteen soldiers from Fort Sill enjoyed Bricktown Monday as a holiday treat since they were unable to go home for Christmas.
The day was a free event to bring the soldiers some Christmas spirit and give them a tour of all the great downtown activities.
The men went to the Oklahoma City National Memorial, took a ride on a water taxi and had lunch at Toby Keith's restaurant.
Some even left messages at the memorial, reflecting on what their own jobs mean to the country.
"It made me feel closer to other soldiers and it boosted my moral," Peter Profesta from Brooklyn, New York said.
Later the soldiers went snow tubing at the Brick, and they also got tickets to see the Thunder's game at the Ford Center.
