OKLAHOMA CITY - A man shot and killed at a southwest Oklahoma City hotel was a coach for a Kansas wrestling club competing in the U.S. Junior Open Wrestling Tournament.

Police found 31-year-old Kiyon Koroma dead and 22-year-old George Anderson III injured in the hotel room shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday.

Anderson is being held without bail on a first-degree murder complaint.

Police are still investigating the murder. They are having trouble piecing together what led to the shooting Sunday.

"We know there were several adults in the room including the suspect. And it's really unclear for unknown reasons the suspect produced a handgun and opened fire on the victim," Oklahoma City Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

Those who knew Koroma are devastated. They're calling his death a senseless and unprovoked act of violence.

It's been a difficult two days for Pat Biddle. He's trying to come to terms with the shooting death of one of his former high school wrestlers, Kiyon Koroma. Koroma was a high school state champion in 1995. His name is forever etched on the wrestling room's wall.

"He naturally didn't make a lot of mistakes, so you didn't have to do a lot of coaching. You just had to sit there, keep score and watch him do his thing," Biddle said.

Koroma was in town for the U.S. Open Wrestling Tournament at the state fairgrounds. He donated his time as a middle school coach for the Winfield Wrestling Club.

"The kids just adored him he's going to be truly missed by all of our kids," Biddle said.

The Winfield Wrestling Club has a tournament planned for this weekend. They're going ahead with it saying that's what Kiyon would have wanted.
