OKLAHOMA CITY -- A family of 14 had their living room and dining room re-modeled thanks to the help of an Oklahoman who is making it big.

Lauren Makk who works on the show "Trading Spaces" on TLC volunteered her time to help redo the Babb family's living space as part of an effort to raise money for the United Way.

Brian Babb won Makk's services after he gave the highest bid at a Chesapeake Energy charity auction, a bid he says was a surprise for his wife.

"I bid on it and we won. I gave it to my wife as a birthday gift," Brian Babb said.

Makk started work on the project Wednesday and finished it Saturday afternoon.

"We installed ceiling beams. We repainted this room. We built a new table top for the kitchen table," Makk said.

The family said for the project to be finished by Saturday afternoon, it took working from sun up to sun down the past four days and required help from volunteers. But, it was an opportunity to make their home more accessible for them and their 12 children.
