OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man has been arrested in connection to the bomb scare at the new federal building Wednesday afternoon.

A bomb squad was called to the federal building after Roderick L. Robinson walked into the building at about 12:35 p.m. and refused to go through security.

The 30-year-old then ran out of the building and left a backpack with two notes that said there was a bomb in the backpack and a bomb in a car parked outside the building, said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Greg McCalister.

A bomb squad checked the backpack, the suspects' car and the building for a bomb, McCalister said. The building was evacuated. It was later determined there were no bombs in or around the Federal Building.

Master Sgt. Gary Knight said no evidence of an explosive device has been found.

"We're going to make sure everyone is OK and everyone is safe," Knight said. "We want to err on the side of caution."

FBI Special Agent Gary Johnson said Robinson appeared to be disgruntled with a federal agency which may have led to his actions. Johnson confirmed the suspect was frustrated with the Social Security Administration, which is where he wanted to go when he entered the federal building.

The building opened in 2003 and replaced the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building which was destroyed in the 1995 bombing. The building is located northwest of the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

Robinson is in Federal custody and faces Federal charges Thursday related to the incident.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI and Oklahoma City Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Oklahoma. Robinson was convcited 10 years ago of making a bomb threat in Norman.
