LONE GROVE, Okla. -- Lone Grove residents spent much of Wednesday afternoon sifting through what was left of their homes. The search took many of them to a giant field across the road.
Airplanes, helicopters, and all-terrrain vehicles also traveled the field most of the day.
Some folks were searching for specific items. Others, like Joseph Iliff, were searching for just about anything.
"Clothes, I mean just anything to help me restart," Iliff said. "All that's left of my house is the dirt spot where it sat."
Iliff said that he and the others in his house left just seconds before the storm hit. He came to the field knowing that he might not find anything of value.
"Probably not, but I'm giving it a shot, it's the only shot I got," Iliff said.
Iliff and other Lone Grove survivors will continue searching the field in hopes of recovering the scattered pieces of their homes.
