OKLAHOMA CITY -- An organization called Recruit-Military has more than sixty of career fairs-for-vets scheduled for this year all over the country, including one held in Bricktown Thursday.
Originally, the idea was to help young men and women just getting out of the military better transition to civilian life, but in today's economy, they're helping vets of all ages.
Hundreds of other vets and their spouses are out of work and looking for something to help them connect to the workforce.
"Great work ethic, the understanding of what it means to set and accomplish a goal in a timely manner, working with less than desirable resources, all these things make them a really great hire," said recruit John Lundberg.
Officials with the career fair said they have noticed an increase in job seekers this year over last year and a decrease in job vendors.
