OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two teens have been arrested for allegedly throwing a boulder that came crashing down onto traffic nearly killed two Oklahoma City grandmothers.

"It sounded like a bomb," said 82-year-old Mary Jones.

Jones and her daughter were on their way home from the dentist when a massive rock came through their windshield. The impact of the boulder and shattered glass broke her arm and sent her to the hospital for surgery.

"My arm was lying down because only the skin was holding it. My arm was hit, knocked loose from my shoulder," Jones said. "This is the first time I've had surgery, besides having my babies at the hospital long ago."

Jones is now wearing an arm sling.

Witnesses told police they saw two teens throwing rocks off of a bridge onto oncoming traffic, hitting three vehicles on Interstate 35 and Grand Avenue Friday evening.

"The vehicles are going at such speed that the rocks hitting the windshield can, and in this case, did a significant injury to one of the passengers in the vehicle," Oklahoma City Police Master Sergeant Gary knight.

Police arrested a 14-year-old boy and 16-year-old in connection with the incidents. The teens will now face three counts of throwing objects at a moving vehicle, which is a felony.

Jones said she is planning to press charges against the juveniles.
