STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The OSU plane crash was personal for the News 9 family. News 9 remembers friend and Sports Director Bill Teegins and talked with his wife Janis about the man who lived every minute with an unbeatable attitude.

"If you're like me, I can't believe it's been a decade. It's sad, but we are here to honor Bill, too, his memory, the wonderful husband he was, and friend to all," said Janis Teegins. "A lot of people just tell me what a great job he did, and that you could tell that he really loved his job."

Even when he wasn't on the air, his joking nature was infectious.

"You know when your first date is to a baseball game, you know that he's a sports nut," remembered Bill's wife.

That sports nut was never happier than when he was talking baseball with greats like Yogi Berra, Harry Carey, and Tommy Lasorda.

"Bill was my friend but also my boss...And yes we had our arguments. But we always ended those times with a few rounds a sports trivia. This is the last card we used. He knew baseball's all time home run king before Babe Ruth was Gavvy Cravath. Bill knew he hit 119 homers, was nicknamed Cactus, told me all the teams he played for and even where he ate lunch on Wednesdays," said News 9's Ed Murray.

Janis Teegins said Bill never pulled out sports trivia cards when they argued.

"No, and I probably would have thrown a book at him or something," she laughed.

"People like to remember him. He's a very memorable guy I guess you'd say. Or else, he's hard to forget. Maybe that's it."
