OKLAHOMA CITY -- Hazmat crews assisted firefighters with a fire at RBC Bearings in southwest Oklahoma City. Firefighters responded to a smoke investigation at the building at about 10 p.m. Friday.
When they arrived they found two oil pits on fire.
Ten workers were inside and made it out safely. Because of the burning oil, fire crews had to use foam instead of water to fight the blaze.
"What it does, it creates a blanket which in all practical purposes, it just shuts off all air and oxygen that feeds the fire," said Battalion Chief Bobby Lax with the Oklahoma City Fire Department.
RBC manufactures and distributes industrial and aerospace bearings, globally.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
