CHOCTAW, Oklahoma – Oklahoma City fire crews battled a wildfire near I-40 and Choctaw Road.
It is unclear what started the fire. The fire spread between Choctaw and Henney roads near I-40. Firefighters called in a tanker from Tinker Air Force Base to assist.
SkyNews 9 pilot Mason Dunn said fortunately the grass in the area was cut short which helped stop the fire from spreading to quickly. The fire charred over 20 acres.
With warm temperatures, higher winds and low humidity, most of the state is under a high fire danger. Thirty-three counties remain under a burn ban.
More information on burn bans from Oklahoma Forestry Services.
