NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A 19-year-old man has been sentenced for the murder of a 19-year-old friend and former classmate.
Raymond McMasters stabbed Josephine Fransisco-Herrera to death at a home in Moore in October 2010. McMasters stabbed himself several times and originally claimed that both he and Fransisco-Herrera had been attacked. Police quickly saw through his story and arrested him.
The Cleveland County District Attorney charged McMasters with first-degree murder. McMasters accepted a deal and agreed to plead guilty in exchange for life with parole. He'll be eligible for parole in 38 years when he is 57 years old.
