OAK GROVE, Oklahoma -- Oak Grove in Murray County is so small you won't find it on some state maps. Its volunteer fire department has two ancient trucks and one new one.

A few days ago someone broke into the fire department's building and took the new truck for a joyride in the country, smashing through barbed wire and county road signs.

By the time Fire Chief Bart Castleberry found it, the truck had absorbed $12,000 in damages.

"The barbed wire had wrapped up around the axles and cut our brake lines," says Castleberry.

The volunteer firefighters are repairing the truck with money from their own pockets, but it's not ready to go back into service yet.

Luckily there have been no fires in the area lately.

The Murray County Sheriff is investigating, but the person who stole the truck has not been found.
