UPDATE: OKLAHOMA CITY -- Firefighters have put out a large grassfire in Southeast Oklahoma City.

Firefighters started working the fire around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon. A lot of trees in the area made it difficult for firefighters to get to the fire. A helicopter was called in to attack the fire from above.

"I just feel sorry for those guys working. I looked at my theometer it's like 112," said Kathy Gray. "I just can't even imagine what's it's like to fight that. I just appreciate them."

Firefighters fought the flames away from several homes but two trailers and a barn was lost.

"It's all around the house now," said Christina Rowland. "I though it burned up twice, but we have to check and see if it did or not."

Flames burned right up to a house, but firefighters managed to stop the flames before they burned the home.  At this point there are no reports of firefighters injuries.

"I'd just like to say for the public to remember it's dry as a tinderbox out here and if you could help us out by clearing any trees and brush and cutting your grass short," said Oklahoma Fire Chief Cecil Clay.
