Road Trip Oklahoma pulls into Mustang

Road Trip Oklahoma continues with a stop in Mustang, Oklahoma. Known as "A city with a vision", Mustang is within one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Mustang was established as a city in 1969 with a population of about 2,600. Today, Mustang boasts a population of more than 17,000. The city has an active community center which includes a public library, aquatic facility, and other recreational activities for families.

Road Trip Oklahoma continues with a stop in Mustang, Oklahoma. 

Known as "A city with a vision", Mustang is within one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Mustang was established as a city in 1969 with a population of about 2,600. Today, Mustang boasts a population of more than 17,000. The city has an active community center which includes a public library, aquatic facility, and other recreational activities for families.

Some of the major events that happen in Mustang are the annual Mustang Western Days, which is celebrating its 35th year. This includes a parade, chili cook-off, carnival and a Rodeo. Another highly anticipated festivity is the Mustang Grand National Car Show. The show hosts over 500 Ford Mustangs of all makes and models. These cars come from all around the United States and Canada.

Currently, the new High School is being built which also includes a wellness center for all sports to use. Some alumni of Mustang High School have moved on to become widely known such as Olympic gold medalist, Kendall Cross. Also, Shane Hammon is a U.S. Olympic weight lifter who has been named "the strongest man in America." He broke every American record in his sport. And former NFL player for the NY Jets was from Mustang as well.
