OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma County prosecutors have officially charged a 20-year-old man with killing an Oklahoma City woman in her home.

Prosecutors say Dartangan Cotton murdered 56-year-old Paula Martin on September 6, 2011, after he broke into her house in the 500 block of S.W. 48th Street. According to police documents, neighbors saw Cotton sitting in Martin's car in her driveway. They told police Cotton then entered Martin's home through her garage.

When police entered the house, they found Martin dead in her bedroom. Her hands had been bound behind her back. Court documents do not reveal exactly how she died. Papers only state Martin received "unknown trauma, inflicting mortal wounds which caused her death."

Police arrested Cotton after he fell through the ceiling. Police say he'd been hiding in the attic.
