Oklahoma City firefighters were called out to investigate the smell of smoke early Thursday morning, but discovered a house fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters arrived at the house near N.E. 6th Street and Kelley around 4:15 a.m. The fire was so intense part of the roof had already collapsed. It was too dangerous for crews to enter the house, so they fought the flames from outside.
It took about an hour for firefighters to knock down the fire. They spent another two hours putting out hot spots.
No one lived in the house, but firefighters said it appeared transients had been there at some point. They searched the house and found no evidence anyone was killed or injured in the fire. Investigators don't know yet how the fire started.
