The Love County Sheriff's Office requested help from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation after a shooting Sunday afternoon in Jimtown.

Deputies said 65-year-old Montie Slawson was shot December 18 after an altercation between two neighboring families. The shooting happened just a few yards away from the Jimtown Fire Department.

Slawson was taken to a hospital in Texas with non-life threatening wounds.

Jimmy Dale Householder, 63, is accused of shooting Slawson. Agents and deputies arrested him on a complaint of shooting with intent to kill.

After interviewing witnesses, authorities also arrested the victim's son, 44-year-old Victor Lynn Slawson, for assault with a deadly weapon.
