What appeared to be a car accident, quickly turned into a shooting investigation. One person is dead and one injured.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a car accident just after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at 601 Whispering Oak Road in Oklahoma City. The car had crashed into the home and was on fire when emergency crews arrived. Firefighters put out the fire.

But once the fire was out, police discovered more than an accident.

"There were two bodies inside of the vehicle," said Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow of the Oklahoma City Police Department. "Both males had apparently been shot."

Police have confirmed one person has died from a gunshot wound. Another person was injured in the shooting.

Police say a black man wearing camouflage shorts and an orange shirt went running from the scene. Officers immediately began searching for him.

"We were like okay, why is that cop car blocking off our street and then the cop got out and was running to people's doors knocking on people's doors," said Christie, who lives down the street, but asked we not use her last name. "And then him and another cop came around actually went around the back of our house with police dogs."

Police say that man is not a suspect, they just want to talk to him. Anyone with information about what happened out here should call 911.
