Heavy rains in the Oklahoma City area flooded a metro school, forcing administrators to cancel classes Wednesday so they could clean up the mess.
A statement on Monroe Elementary School's website said the rain left a significant amount of water in the building, and school was canceled to ensure the safety of students and staff.

News 9 went to the school early Wednesday morning and saw water dripping from several spots in the ceiling, and damaged ceiling tiles piled up outside the building.
The school, located at N.W. 48th Street and N. Linn Avenue, recently underwent roofing repairs, but it's not known if that contributed to the flooding problem.
Administrators have not said if classes will resume Thursday.
Monroe Elementary is part of Oklahoma City Public Schools, but all other schools in the district were open Wednesday.
