An unexpected shopper was discovered at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City over the weekend.
One shopper took several pictures of what many customers thought was an exotic animal being pushed around the mall in a baby stroller on Saturday. One young girl even told her mother she thought it was a cheetah!
But it turns out, it was a savannah. Savannah cats are one of the larger breeds of domesticated cats. A savannah cat is the name given to the offspring of a domestic cat and a serval—a medium-sized, large-eared wild African cat.
When News 9 inquired about the presumed exotic cat with mall security, officials released this statement:
"Security notified the mall patron that exotic animals are not allowed on property. The mall patron was cooperative and left the property," Mis Gaston, Penn Square Mall.
