The Deep Deuce part of downtown will finally have a grocery store to call its own very soon.

Deep Deuce boasts 600 apartments, but a grocery store is nowhere in sight. However, coming this May or June, the popular "Native Roots" Market in Norman plans to open a second store in Deep Deuce.

Native Roots Co-Owner Matt Runkle says the 2,400 square foot store will be at 2nd St. and Walnut, on the southeast corner of the new "Level" apartment complex.

"From bagged ice to aspirin, to beer to coffee. To get a cup of coffee, not just a bag of coffee, full spread, crammed with a lot of greatness," said Runkle.

Runkle says the new Native Roots will make Deep Deuce residents very happy.  He says the new store will have a large selection of meats, cheeses, fresh breads, a deli, beer, bagged ice, and even cleaning supplies.
