I have some exciting news I would like to share with everyone. I got married last week!

I am humbled and thankful to be married to such an incredible woman; and one that can put up with me! (GRIN!)

I married Sharon Higerd Castles on the beach in her home town of Pompano Beach, Florida. We decided on Tuesday, March 20, at sunrise. I would like to take credit for getting married on the first day of Spring, but we didn't plan it – it just happened that way!

I woke my kids in the predawn hours of this incredible Spring morning. They were sleepy but excited. We walked out in our casual wedding attire onto the dark and desolate beach about an hour before sunrise.

Always the meteorologist, I noted the balmy conditions and fresh ocean breeze. There was a sweet, salty smell to the bustling air. The wind was blowing gently and the palm leaves dancing to a gentle rhythm. Soon the beach would be combing with residents and spring-breakers, but for now the beach was ours!

We walked up the beach to near the Hillsboro Lighthouse which set the stage for a secluded, but grand and romantic event! The wedding was spectacular. In one direction, we saw beautiful hues of orange rays coming over the ocean bursting through a partly cloudy sky. In the other direction sat a colorful segment of rainbow! It was even better than I can describe!

We had a small but intimate wedding party: Our parents, my children and a few others who are dear to us. Our pastor, Doug Sauder from Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, gave a Spirit-filled and deeply impacting message. It was based on Isaiah 43:18, Psalm 126 - 128 and 130; and ended with Jude 1:2 from The Message. God is faithful! He redeems and mends broken hearts, past mistakes and hurts. Sharon and I share a love story that has been written by the Author and Finisher of our faith! God is so good! We both so grateful for His love for us! It makes our love for each other stronger and pierces the darkness. This is why the Lighthouse, the Sunrise and the First day of Spring have such meaning to us and will remain a testament to how great our God is!

Sharon is headed to Oklahoma with a great knowledge of hurricanes but not so much of tornadoes. They scare the daylights out of her, just like they do many Oklahomans! I think she married the right guy to help protect her from those terrible twisters, ya think?!

I've told her that when the weather gets really bad - a lot of times - I have to be in at the station. Her solution: BE WITH ME AT THE STATION! That sounds great to me! She will make a great assistant!

We are both excited about our new season ahead!

I would enjoy any comments you have either below or on my Facebook fan page! Thanks everyone!
