Oklahoma's Nyko Symonds, the starting holder for the Sooners, has decided to transfer to Oklahoma Baptist.

Symonds, a former Southmoore High School standout, will be a receiver for the Bison.

"I'll have an opportunity to receive a great education, start a tradition with my new brothers and, most importantly, grow in my walk with the Lord," said Symonds.

The Sooner Starter was the 2011 holder for Sooner record-holding kicker Michael Hunnicutt and was an Academic All-Big 12 second-team selection.

In High School, Symonds played coach Chris Jensen at Southmoore High School and the two will be reunited at OBU as Coach Jenson is now the head coach for the Bison.

At Southmoore, Symonds helped the team to an 11-2 record and a district title in 2009. He had 37 catches, 864 yards and seven touchdowns on offense and 30 tackles, four interceptions and 18 break-ups defensively.
