More than 30 members of the Oklahoma Sustainment Training Team received an emotional and enthusiastic welcome home Wednesday morning.

Family members cheered as the troops walked into the Norman Armed Forces Reserve Center. They had been in Afghanistan. The STT was responsible for the mentorship and professional military development of senior leaders in the Afghan national army.

Soldiers said the overwhelming support and love from friends and family kept them encouraged while they were overseas.

"I got so many e-mails, calls, letters, care packages, it was just unbelievable," said Sgt. Major Scott Haynes. "I got stuff from Ada High School. I'm not sure who sent it. I got a bunch of stuff from them and I just want to say thank you very much."
