Jed's Weather Blog: What a Beautiful Sunrise!

Along with being a "cloud watcher," I am also a sunrise watcher. I have been News 9's "sunrise watcher" since June 1st of 1996; that will be 16 years this June!

Rarely have a seen a sunrise come out of nowhere to be this beautiful! Skies started cloudy this morning, but there must have been just enough of a break on the eastern horizon this morning to allow the sun to be seen during that brief pre-dawn moment. Once the sun came over the horizon, it lifted above the clouds. The beautiful moment flickered and vanished like a candle blowing out. Here are pictures of the glorious sunrise!

Rain and thunderstorm chances are the top story now for the rest of the day. Most areas will receive less than a half an inch. The heaviest rain through the weekend will be in southeast Oklahoma. Flash flooding will be possible there.
