The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified a motorcyclist who died at a hospital after crashing while fleeing state troopers Thursday evening.

A trooper on DUI patrol spotted Chad Alan Woods, 33, driving recklessly on I-244 near Admiral around 9:30 p.m. The trooper attempted to make a traffic stop when Woods sped off, hitting speeds up to 120 mph.

Troopers said Woods tried to turn off Highway 412 near 33rd West Avenue, but drove down an embankment and crashed. He was thrown from the bike and landed on a fence.

"Trooper immediately began CPR," OHP Lt. George Brown said. "He attempted to resuscitate the motorcyclist but was unsuccessful."

Woods, who is from Tulsa, was not wearing a helmet, according to troopers.
