The creators of the viral video sensation "Beard Like Harden" are at it again. This time, the group worked on a music video for Kevin Durant.
It's a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's catchy tune"Call Me Maybe". The music video hit YouTube on Monday with new lyrics and the title of "Call Him K.D."
News 9 visited the music group during their first rehearsal for the new video. The men from Woodward, Oklahoma, were busy working on the video so it will be ready by game one of the NBA Finals.
Their Maroon 5 parody, Beard Like Harden, already has more than 217,000 hits on YouTube.
"I kind of jumped into video and animation a few years ago, and I've really enjoyed it and loved it," lead singer Chris Castor said.
Castor says the idea was to create a music video for each of the Thunder's series. His brother got the ball rolling on Beard Like Harden, but now the attention turns to the team leader.
"We just enjoy doing this," Castor said. "It's a lot of fun for me to get to hang out with my family and my friends and support something we love together."
With the help of college buddies, all of the instruments, photography and post production is covered.
Besides "Beard Like Harden" and "Call Him K.D.," the group also uploaded a video named "Came To Play" on YouTube. The song was originally written by Chris, Daniel, and Bobbi Castor.
The "Came To Play" video features many Thunder fans from the northwestern Oklahoma area. The fans came together to show their support and to cheer for the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to the group's YouTube page.
The Thunder kicks off the NBA Finals series against the Miami Heat at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
