Owner Of Chickasha Convenience Store Accused Of Selling Dangerous Synthetic Drug

A Chickasha business owner and his employees face charges for selling illegal drugs out of a convenience store.

The Grady County District Attorney is cracking down on stores selling the synthetic drug K-2 that mimics pot.

Prosecutors filed felony drug charges on four convenience store workers in Chickasha earlier on Tuesday. They are expected to turn themselves in this week, but are allegedly still selling the fake pot.

Coastal Mart cashiers turned our camera away, but an undercover investigation reveals that anyone who want to purchase this synthetic drug K-2 is welcome to come inside.

Grady County Assistant District Attorney James Walter explains that undercover agents purchased K-2 from the Coastal Mart on four different occasions.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics confirm at least two deaths, and dozens of people have been hospitalized after taking the drug, and probably more would go unreported because the drug is so new.

But court records indicate the owner of Coastal Mart said he sells some things in his store he is "not responsible for what someone does with it after they leave."

The charges include distribution and possession of the drugs. The punishment can range from two years to life in prison, or a fine of up to $20,000.

Under state law, the store selling the drug can also be shut down.
