A two-car collision Monday morning near Robinson and Newton has claimed the life of one person and injured another one. Authorities also shut down part of Robinson for several hours due to the crash.

It happened just before 6 a.m. Monday. Police say the driver of a white Toyota Corolla, 65-year-old Susan Shobert, was turning from Newton Drive onto eastbound Robinson when the car struck a brown Chevrolet Suburban heading west on Robinson.

Shobert was transported to Norman Regional Hospital where she later died. The driver of the Suburban was taken to the hospital as well, and was treated and released.

Police closed Robinson between Flood and Berry for most of the morning to investigate the crash and clean up the wreckage.
