A police officer was injured Sunday night in a two-car collision near a restaurant on N.W. 27th Street at Interstate 35.

According to Sgt. Jeremy Lewis with the Moore Police Department, the officer was responding to a domestic call around 7 p.m. He was driving eastbound on N.W. 27th Street when a car pulled out of the parking lot of the Pickles restaurant and collided with the patrol car.

The airbags in both cars deployed. The police officer received a cut on his head. He was taken to the hospital to receive stitches. The driver and passenger in the other car were not hurt.

Sgt. Lewis said it's not known if the officer was driving with his lights and sirens on. The police department will review footage from cameras in the patrol car to determine exactly what happened.
