High-Speed Pursuit Ends In Crash In Southwest OKC

A high-speed chase involving Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and the Oklahoma City Police has ended in a crash in southwest Oklahoma City Thursday morning.

A high-speed chase involving Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and the Oklahoma City Police has ended in a crash in southwest Oklahoma City Thursday morning. Authorities say shots were fired at some point during the chase.

The pursuit started at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of I-40 and Meridian. According to authorities, a highway patrol trooper was responding to a semi crash in Del City when he noticed a vehicle that was reported stolen.

The trooper said that vehicle did not yield for him, but it took off instead. That's when the trooper began chasing after the vehicle.

The vehicle reportedly struck a car on I-240 during the chase, but continued heading south on Western. The vehicle then hit another car on S. Western before it crashed in the area of S.W. 119th and Western.

The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Jason Craig Curlee, received minor injuries and has been transported to the hospital, according to police. No one else was seriously injured.

Troopers say shots were fired at some point during the crash.

Curlee has felony warrants out of Oklahoma County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
