Bullets barely missed a security guard who was on patrol at the same Oklahoma City apartment complex where a teenager was killed just a week ago.
Around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, the guard was walking around the Terrace Apartments in the 6600 block of N.W. 10th Street when he says someone suddenly started shooting at him. The unknown gunman fired several shots, but missed the security guard.
A police officer in the area actually heard the gunshots and rushed to help. Other officers quickly arrived, sealed off the area, and began searching.
The security guard told police he'd earlier told four men they could not come into the gated complex. He believed they were the people who shot at him.
Police say the four men tried to kick down fence panels to get onto the property, and the gunfire began minutes later.
Police arrested four men, but not one of them was booked into jail for the shooting. They are Antonio Martin, 23, Antwion Martin, 20, Joshua Yancy, 20, and Clinton Jones, 22.
Both Antonio and Antwion Martin were arrested for trespassing on private property. Yancy had outstanding warrants in Oklahoma County for aggravated assault and battery, and Jones was arrested for public drunkenness, trespassing, and providing false information to police.
Just a week ago, 18-year-old Daquan Lamont Stephens was shot and killed in the parking lot of the same apartment complex. His death was the city's 79th homicide of 2012. Police have not arrested anyone in the deadly shooting.
