Election officials in Cleveland County spent hours counting the ballots, and determined Wednesday morning that Republican incumbent Aaron Stiles won Oklahoma State House District 45 by a very slim margin.

According to the Cleveland County Election Board, Stiles beat Democratic challenger Paula Roberts by just 18 votes. Late Tuesday night, Roberts declared victory on her Facebook page, but it turned out that declaration was premature.

It took election officials all night to determine a winner because of technical issues with the voting machines. Ten hours after the polls closed, Stiles was declared the winner. He said he's happy about the outcome, but wishes he would have had a more decisive victory.

"It feels okay, I guess," said Stiles. "Obviously, we want to win by more but victory is victory, I guess. I'm more disappointed in the campaign itself as opposed to the results."

Roberts has not said if she will challenge the results.
