A man was shot and killed while vacuuming his car at a metro car wash Sunday night. Police are now looking for the gunman, as well as trying to identify the victim and notify his family.

It happened just after 7 p.m. Sunday at the "Star Wash" at the corner of S.W. 51st and Pennsylvania.

The murder that happened at the Star Wash has neighbors here on alert. But they say they are not surprised it happened.

"Well it's pretty terrible you can't even go vacuum out your car out anymore," Ronnie Schweitzer said.

Schweitzer said he's lived in this neighborhood more than 25 years, and has even washed and vacuumed his car at the car wash. He's concerned that his neighborhood has become a haven for criminal activity.

We checked our crime tracker database for the latest stats, and discovered several burglaries and assaults and batteries have occurred in that area just this past summer.

Schweitzer said he remembers another murder that happened here several years ago.

"Just across the street eight years ago, three houses down, there were three young men got shot and killed," Schweitzer said.

Despite the rise in violent crime in his neighborhood, Schweitzer said he has no plans to leave, and will still use the car wash down the street, despite what happened there Sunday night.

"Yeah I'll still use the carwash but I'll be looking a lot closer," Schweitzer said.

Oklahoma City police are still interviewing potential witnesses to Sunday night's murder. But so far, no arrests have been made.

If you have information to help police, call the homicide tip line at (405)-297-1200.

This is Oklahoma City's 86th homicide of the year.
