Firefighters have contained one grass fire burning in the metro, but are still battling another.

The fires burned in Edmond and Norman. The Edmond fire was first spotted around 2 p.m. near Coltrane and Waterloo. It was contained about an hour later. It's not known how the fire started.

The Norman fire began burning around 1 p.m. at 3500 S. Jenkins, just south of Highway 9.  Rubber filters near the waste water treatment plant caught fire. The fire then spread to the grass. Crews expect to have it contained soon.

The extremely dry conditions have raised the wildfire risk across the state.
