Police say a high-speed car race ended after one of the vehicles crashed in southwest Oklahoma City early Saturday morning. One person was injured in the crash.
Officers responded to the incident at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. According to police, two cars were racing on May Avenue, going south, when one car lost control and struck a light pole near S.W. 9th Street and May.
Power was knocked out to the streetlight, but nothing else was affected.
The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries. The other car left the scene, police said.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
