EDMOND, Oklahoma -- The 27th annual Swine Week begins on Monday. Swine Week is an annual fundraising campaign organized by students at Edmond Memorial High School.
Star Wars is the theme this year, and students are spending their Sunday, decorating the school like outer space.
The goal this year is to raise $350,000 for Limbs for Life, an organization that helps needy amputees get prosthetic limbs.
"It's amazing to know that one school can do so much for so many people and change their lives and give them their independence of having a limb and to give them that sense of normalcy back," said Alex Wileman, EMHS Senior."
If the students reach their $350,000 goal, they say it will help all 150 amputees on the Limbs for Life waiting list. And, the principal will also have to kiss a pig, thus the name "Swine Week."
If you would like to help, just text SWINE to 20222 to give a $10.00 donation.
