Pauls Valley Police Investigate After Body Found In Creek

Police in Pauls Valley believe a man was killed near Rush Creek during fight Monday morning. The body of 22-year-old Jerry Lytle was found in the creek around 5 a.m.

Police in Pauls Valley believe a man was killed near Rush Creek during fight Monday morning. The body of 22-year-old Jerry Lytle was found in the creek around 5 a.m.

"There was an altercation that took place between some young men at Rush Creek," said Pauls Valley Police Chief Mitch McGill.

Chief McGill thinks three to four people were involved and he wouldn't be surprised if arrests were quickly made in the case.

"I believe they all knew each other," said McGill about the people involved.

The incident has rattled neighbor in Pauls Valley who live near Rush Creek.

"It's disturbing, anytime a life is taken, young or old, it's disturbing," neighbor Clay Johnson said.

Chief McGill tells News 9 this is Pauls Valley's first homicide in about ten years.
