As a mid-level storm system approaches, rain and thunderstorm chances will go up on Wednesday.
Best timing for showers and storms will be during the peak heating of the day lasting into the evening hours. The severe threat will be low on Wednesday, but it is May in Oklahoma, so a few strong to severe storms are not out of the question.
There will be another slight chance of thunderstorms over the weekend, but widespread coverage is not expected. Any storms that do develop Saturday or Sunday will likely turn severe.
