Oklahoma City police have arrested a man and woman in connection with the death of a 7-year-old boy whose body was found April 28 in the burned remains of his home.
Police say Adrian Avalos was home alone when the fire started. Firefighters discovered the boy's body after neighbors called 911. Police later said Adrian's death was a homicide because someone burglarized the home before the fire started.
On Friday, May 17, police took Paulina Cruz, 26, and Julio Nevarez, 19, into custody after a traffic stop at 22nd and Goff. Investigators had received information implicating the two were connected to Adrian's death.
Cruz and Nevarez were booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of first-degree murder, first-degree arson and first-degree burglary.
