Crews will narrow northbound Interstate 35 Thursday morning to repair the damage caused Wednesday by a large semi truck fire.

All northbound and southbound lanes of I-35 at Tecumseh were shut down for about two hours Wednesday night when a truck carrying 4,200 gallons of toxic paint caught fire. The truck driver says she lost control of the vehicle when a back tire blew.

The fire caused some damage to the highway. While crews make repairs, northbound I-35 will be narrowed Thursday morning until 9 a.m. to two lanes between Robinson and Tecumseh. The section will then be narrowed to one lane from 9 a.m. to noon.

Drivers should expect delays and consider using alternate routes, such as U.S. 77.
