A woman was injured after authorities say she fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed her vehicle near Cleveland, Oklahoma, Sunday morning.
It happened at 7:40 a.m. on US 64, just south of Cleveland in Pawnee County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Mandi Cosper was driving a 1993 Honda, westbound on US 64, when she apparently fell asleep. The car then ran off the roadway to the left, striking a guard rail.
The vehicle rolled one time and flipped end-over-end another time, coming to rest on its wheels on the south side of the roadway.
Cosper was pinned for about ten minutes before being freed by Cleveland firefighters. She was transported to St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, suffering from head, arm, leg, trunk internal and external injuries. She is said to be in stable condition.
Troopers listed the cause of the collision as "sleepy" in the OHP collision report. Cosper was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
