Lane was killed August 16 in Duncan, Oklahoma. Police say Lane was jogging when he was shot once in the back. According to an autopsy report, the bullet collapsed both of his lungs, fractured two ribs and tore through his aorta and pulmonary artery.

Prosecutors say Lane was targeted at random by three teenagers. Chancey Luna, 16, and James Edwards Jr., 15, are charged with first-degree murder. Police say Luna pulled the trigger, but he denies he was even at the scene. Michael Jones, 17, is charged as a youthful offender and faces one count of accessory to first-degree murder.
