A family traveling from Alaska lost most of their belongings when someone stole their pickup truck and trailer. It happened overnight at the Hampton Inn near Interstate 40 and Meridian.

There were no security cameras in the back of the hotel where the truck and trailer were parked. All that's left in the spot where the truck was parked is some shattered glass.

Kathy and Gareth Burgess travel around the country with their two boys. The spend weeks at a time in different locations for Gareth's work. They've spent the last eight weeks in Oklahoma City. Tuesday night, their truck and trailer were stolen from the parking lot of the Hampton Inn.

All of their belongings were inside the trailer, from personal documents to the ashes of their two dogs to the boy's toys. Through the ordeal, Kathy has tried to teach her boys a lesson on what is and isn't important.

The family was set to leave for Gareth's next job in Minnesota Wednesday morning, but those plans were put on hold because of the theft. They hope someone might have seen the truck pulling away from the hotel Tuesday night or that nearby business caught it on camera.
