OK Lawmakers Blast President Over Obamacare Headaches

Millions of Americans are now receiving cancellation letters for their health insurance policies as frustration continues to build over Obamacare.

The President stood before cameras Thursday and took responsibility for the failures of Healthcare.gov. Oklahoma politicians are saying, "Told you so" when it comes to implementing the new law.

Only 346 people in the Sooner State have been able to sign up for new government mandated policies. Even Democrats are irritated at what seems to be the unraveling of Obamacare, but supporters say just give it time.

"Anytime you have something new of this magnitude, you're going to have some problems," Oklahoma Obamacare supporter Magnus Scott said.

Now, President Obama says if you like your current plan you can keep it … for one more year.

"I said that I would do everything we can to fix this problem," Obama said. "Today, I am offering a plan that will help do it."

The Obama Administration promises people are working feverishly behind the scenes to get Healthcare.gov running smoothly, while U.S. Rep. James Lankford (R-OK) continues to blast Obama.

"Now that [Obama's] poll numbers have dropped does he feel compelled to get engaged," said Lankford in a prepared statement.

Gov. Mary Fallin is also weighing in saying, "It is embarrassing that the Obama Administration cannot produce a functional website."

The White House is now allowing insurance companies to continue offering plans that would have otherwise been canceled. That's good news for roughly five million Americans. Federal government statistics show nearly 7,000 Oklahomans completed applications for health insurance. That means only about five percent actually went through.

Speaker John Boehner tells CBS News that he will introduce legislation on Friday allowing consumers to keep their current insurance plans permanently.
