A Yukon police officer is recovering Thursday morning after his patrol cruiser was struck head-on by a suspected drunken driver.

Around 3 a.m., the officer was driving north on Mustang Road. Police say Chelsea Swank was driving south, crossed the median, and crashed head-on into the officer's cruiser. Police suspect she was intoxicated at the time.

Swank was not hurt in the crash. She was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence.

The police officer suffered a possible neck injury. He was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The officer has not been identified.
