If you haven't looked outside yet this morning, you are in for a rude awakening. The snow and bitter cold have arrived.

First and foremost, ODOT is discouraging travel in all northern Oklahoma as roads there are snow-packed and very slick/hazardous. Here in central Oklahoma, there will be slick spots from this morning's snow, so take it slow on bridges, overpasses, and elevated surfaces.

Neighborhood streets may be problematic as well.

What's left of the snow this morning will wind down by lunch time, but mostly cloudy skies, strong north winds, and the bitter cold will linger. Highs today stay below freezing but will feel much colder as north winds gust 25-30 mph.

Lows tonight will fall into the single digits and lower teens across the state, but it's the wind chill you need to be concerned about.

Expect below zero wind chills for most everyone tomorrow morning. Brutal cold indeed!

Tonight into Monday morning: Extremely dangerous wind chills across most of the northern plains and midwest. Anywhere from 50 to 65 degrees below zero is what it will feel like in places like Minnesota. That means you could get frostbite to exposed skin in less than five minutes!

Oklahoma: Wind chills -5 to -10 in the west, -10 to -20 in the east.
